What the European Coffee Trip Awards Actually Are

• A Europe-wide spotlight on specialty cafes: European Coffee Trip runs a directory and awards programme built to highlight the continent's independent specialty coffee shops, not chains;, see their guide to specialty coffee in Ireland for the wider context we're part of.
• Boardwalk Killarney is a listed, featured cafe: find our profile on European Coffee Trip, which is what makes us eligible to collect votes in the first place.
• This isn't a paid placement: being featured means being recognised as part of that specialty coffee map, the voting is where the actual competition happens.

How Voting Works

• Voting opened 15 September 2026 and stays open for one month, so there's a real window to get the word out, not a single day to catch.
• Done through the European Coffee Trip mobile app: each app user can cast one vote, and that vote can go to up to three listed cafes, Boardwalk can be one of them. Full award rules here.
• One vote per person: only one vote per verified email address and mobile device is permitted, so it's worth asking people directly rather than assuming a crowd has already covered it.

How to Vote for Boardwalk

• Find our profile: search "Boardwalk Coffee Killarney" in the European Coffee Trip app, or find us at europeancoffeetrip.com/cafe/boardwalkcoffee-killarney.
• Cast your vote before mid-October: the window closes roughly a month after it opened, so sooner is better than later.
• Bring your regulars in on it: if you've ever queued for a flat white at our Killarney counter, this is the moment that queue counts for something beyond the coffee itself.

Boardwalk Killarney was already ranked 48th in Europe's 100 Best Coffee Shops for 2026 — a list built by people who taste a lot of coffee and don't hand out places lightly. The European Coffee Trip Awards is a different kind of recognition: it's decided by the people who actually drink the coffee, not a panel. Being featured is nice. Being voted for is better.
